This is partially taboo but valid. With so many formats available to make video being used, converting from one format to another becomes a problem. I have several videos which were encoded in divx avi. I want to convert them to mpg2 to burn to dvd. I have tried vegas, tmpeg, and virtually every program listed at www.dvdrhelp.com and the bottom line is it isnt going to happen. If I take these files, they play fine, some with amazing clarity in Windows Media player. Clicking on properties syas the divx 5.02 codec is being used. They can not go to an everyday dvd player on any old disk and work, so am I stuck with leaving them on the computer to watch forever? ONe of them actually loads in Vegas, and the video is trashed, the rest, vegas closes when dropping it in the timeline.
Confused and lost, I gave up on them. Any idas?
