OT: Do I need QT 6/7 Pro for Windows???

Okay, I've read here time and again how Vegas 5 doesn't render very good QT files, so here's my question:

Would I benefit from buying QT 6 Pro for Windows (soon to be version 7 for Windows)?

Is this something that would be useful to have in the arsenal of video tools?

I ask partially because I may eventually need to convert some DV AVI's to QT and I'm not sure if Vegas 5 already has everything QT Pro has. In other words, I don't want to buy QT Pro if it's already fully implemented within Vegas 5.

who said vegas doesnt render good QT files -- far from the truth and if you buy QT or not -- be NO diff. in rendering quality ...

and yes - it has everything qt pro has ..

if you want better QT , you need to use the 3ivx or sorenson pro codec in quicktime (and use squeeze for sorenson)

QT Pro 7 is not out for Windows yet.

QT Pro has some advantages for playback of QT files. It can also convert odd QT files to something that can be imported into Vegas.

I recently finished a project where I got QTs with 2 stereo sound tracks. Vegas only picked up the first one, so I had to export the second one to a wav file separately, and note its start time (each audio track can have its own start time in QT).
