OT: DSR-200 and Date/Time

We've inherited a Sony DSR200 from a videographer who died recently.
One of our videographers would like to use it for shooting depositions, but it doesn't appear that it's possible to view the date and time while recording. It shows up in playback but not in the record mode.

Are we missing something, or is the camera unable to do this display in the view finder while in the record mode? I've read the manual and looked over the camera to no avail.

Any help here greatly appreciated.

If it's anything like the DSR500 then it's got a BNC output that'll give you TC over picture. I don't know if you can configure it to show time of day.

If the viewfinder attaches to a BNC output then you could switch to the one that displays TC.

Thanks for getting back so quickly Rob.

It looks like we've got a door-stop on our hands. The DSR200A appears to have been produced to correct the omissions of the DSR200, among these the fact that date and time can't be printed to tape and don't appear in the view finder.

There's no way to do depositions in our state without being able to reference the and time during the deposition and without having both show on the tape when it's recorded.

Guess we'll have to look for a 200A or come up with some other solution. We've used a PD150 at times in the past, recording to an SVHS deck on a two hour tape.
That works and provides the two hours of recording favored by attorneys, but means we have to haul around a deck in addition to all the other stuff.

I'm open to other suggestions.
