OT DVinfo.net: The silence is deafening...

Does anyone here post to DVinfo.net? I signed up on the recommendation of a CineForm rep. It seems that they are very active there. There’s a lot of great information, and a Vegas section, but the site’s administrator signed me up to some newbie site (HD Mom) and won’t answer any of my emails about why I can’t post at the DVinfo.net site. I can post at the HD Mom site (sarcastic comment here).

Does anyone understand why this kind of unprofessional behavior would occur? I’ve been working in DV since the late 90’s and have a pretty long theatrical resume. I’m just saying...

well, i was booted off cow for telling someone to RTFM.

i'm amazed at the self-righteousness and pomposity of some moderators, but then again, i'm equally surprised that sony runs this forum and (happily) allows disparaging comments about their software.

i say good on ya sony for being so open-minded.

Couldn't agree more.
On this site which is owned and entirely paid for by Sony it would not be unreasonable to expect a degree of bias towards Sony products but there isn't any. That adds enormous weight to to the voracity of anything that is complimentary to Sony's products here, they might loose the odd sale from the negative remarks but I'll wager they gain ten for everyone they loose because of the open honestly we're allowed. In an industry so filled with hype, lies and BS it is a very refreshing change.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....

This is one of the most flexible and informative sites around today. Just about every site you go to has some kind of power tripping moderator or owner that you must tip-toe around. Go to the Avid Liquid site and see how fast they shut you down when you bring up Vegas. Go to the Ulead boards and mention Vegas.... same thing. Go to the Adobe Audition board.... same thing. Go to DVinfo and say the wrong thing just once..... the list goes on and on.

Not only are you gifted with oodles of latitude here but there's a vast wealth of very experienced people and tons of information on a large array of topics. I've learned more on this board than I EVER have on an Avid or Pinnacle board. IMO.... we couldn't be blessed with a better board if we were granted a wish for one.

Vegas is a great program and I'd use it regardless but what really seals the deal for me and gifts me with absolutely NO interest in venturing out towards other programs..... is this board.

Mr. Hurd emailed me today. He stated that the HD Mom signup was a simple mistake and that he’s corrected it. He stated that he had been away on a convention trip and was just now catching up on emails. He asked if I still wished to have my account approved and I answered yes.
