This isn't directly video related..but i know a lot of you guys might have this printer. I'm trying to print documents out of microsoft word but it keeps telling me to take the tray out and take the printer out of cd/dvd print mode...BUT IT IS!!! Everything is set properly to print 8.5x11 ..but the printer keeps trying to print to A4 (210mm x 297mm)...and then brings up that error.....anybody else run into this problem? any suggestions..other than opening the doc in another program?

On my R260, there is a lever in the front that must be changed when printing using the tray, and must be changed back to print on paper. Do you have something similar?

Is the printer driver set to be 8.5 x 11 as the default?

One thing I hadn't realized for a long time was that I could easily create multiple printer drivers, with one for monochrome printing, one for slow full-color printing, and one for CD printing, all using the same printer.

Riredate, thats a good hint! My wife gets mad about changing the printer setting because its on a network, this will help. Any suggests for simple printing would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

When you flip down the CD tray door there is a little electrical push button switch on the side. Check those out and see if they are sticking. The switch signals the printer to switch modes.

Open up Word, go into the file menu, open up page setup, open the file "paper source" across the top, then check the appropriate box.

there is no button...atleast one i could find...that may be sticking...the r800 doesn't really have a tray door...the tray just moves up into another position and changes the insides of the printer to print to disk...or paper.....well..i have it set for paper....and the internal buttons, options, dropdowns, etc in word are all pointing to 8.5x11 as is all the options on the epson print screen..but when i hit print...it still tries to print to the A4 setting...

You have to set Word to the proper setting or it will not work. Take it to the bank.
