From the article:

Some elements of the Roadrunner can be traced back to popular video games, said David Turek, vice president of IBM's supercomputing programs. In some ways, he said, it's "a very souped-up Sony PlayStation 3."

A quad core QX9650 clocked at 3,82GHz is not a bad substitute - its even affordable - and it runs XP ;)

No one has yet been able to break (or has not published the result to beat ) my NewRendertest record - that is 82 seconds!
