Like you said bunches out there,,, iffin it were me i would check out all towns within decent driving distance and see if they have a festival,, and send it to all those.

check out withoutabox.com...it's a great service that allows you to submit online. The also have a great rundown on each festivals mission and the genre of films that they are looking for. This should help narrow it down. I agree also that you should pick festivals that are either close to you or that you are willing to attend...

I agree, I have used for about 3 or 4 years now. They keep adding festivals (or more festivals are using them I should say) and they send you email updates when festivals are coming up. You also get discounts on entrance fees and can upload promo materials so festival orginizers can look at your wok to see if it intrests them.

Ill add my 2 cents in here.

I have been involved in many film festivals and mentoring students. One of the biggest points i try to get accross is know your audience. Then research the many festivals that would be tied to your audience and submit it there. You will get a better response and chance to have your movie shown, if you have a product that the festival wants to show.
