OT: Flash 9 just will not install, argh!

It's installed and running on this dinasour but I thought to enjoy it fully and keep up with the latest vids I'd install it on my somewhat faster PC running WinXP SP2. Well after wasting hours of installing, unisnatlling, editing registries, fiddling security settings and aimlessly browsing searching for fixes I'm stumped. Yes I've exhausted ALL the fixes Adobe have to offer, I haven't tried the fixes for getting the MAc version to run but after trying everthing else to no avail that doesn't seem so lame.

Wasn't a total waste of time though, while doodling I installed IE7 and WMP 11.
And the ultimate insult. Thought I'd try a sample vid from uSoft and guess what, it's in Flash so it will not play in my new WMP!!!

In future anyone posting a link to some great vid, please mail me a copy on 16mm, at least the old projector still works.

Bob.

I am having the idenical problem. One day everything was fine, then I can't run youtube. Tried uninstalling, etc., as above. Great time waster.

Also discovered the new IE - love it so far.

Post if you figure it all out.
Too bad Adobe was able to screw up an oldie but goodie like Flash, That was one of the few progams you seemed to be able to count on.
Aw gee...

No Super8? Maybe it was Spot's exploding VC-1 code that broke the flash9, you know the Ms doesn't like to share.

How about trying an earlier version? You might find that if you install an earlier working version and then upgrade over it, things will work again.
