WD 120GB HD 8MB cache WD1200JBRTL at Best Buy for $69.99 After a $50 and a $10 rebate. Available for delivery or in store pick up. In stock as of 9:00AM EST.
Thanks! I finally bought mine for $50. It should arrive on Monday. It was only $50 for 80 Gbytes, which is more than I need for this particular application (kid's computer). The 120 Gbyte IS tempting, though.
Just after reading and responding to your post, I see this:
Today only, CompUSA.com offers the refurbished Seagate 80GB IDE 7200 rpm internal hard drive, model no. 9W2892-560, for $59.99. A $20 mail-in rebate chops the price to $39.99, among the best we've seen for a hard drive of its size. A 180-day warranty applies.
250gb for 139.99 ! ! ! ! Absolutely rediculous! . . . I'll have 'alf a dozen! Don't bother to wrap 'em . . just throw 'em in this paper bag . . . along with the spuds! Storage & memory is so, so, so, cheap nowadays . . .
The 180 day warranty is pretty weak though. It sounds like those drives didn't pass quality control and they decided not to give them the full one-year warranty.

Good thing you didn't order it.
First of all that's not a Seagate part number. Secondly the ad says that the manufacturer is "generic". Thirdly the rebate says that it is for a Seagate HD made on 3/14/04 (valid on 3/13/04 in Utah only). How could a refurbished hard drive have been "made" on 3/14/04 and valid the day before it was "made".
Well, I rushed down to Circuit City and bought one of these. Seems new in the package. Installed without a hitch. A good deal indeed since I was down to 20 gigs... Back to editing.
