OT: German Film Sophiiie

This has nothing to do with VV or editing, but I'm hoping there may be European film fans around with info. Sorry this is pretty far off topic, but I think this group might be a good source.

At a film festival last Feb, I saw a German Movie "Sophiiie" (or sometimes Sophiiiie) by Dir Michael Hofmann. I really liked it and would love to have a copy on DVD (with English subtitles). I think it was released to theaters in Europe last June.

I haven't seen any signs of a DVD yet. Does anyone know how this process works? Is there any typical standard on timings? Will there be a world release first? Should I ever expect to see a DVD?

Thanks for any insights anyone can provide.

The transaltion from German to English certainly makes this movie sound very interesting.

"Sophie is not more schwanger, white however from whom. At the night before its abortion date she klaut their friend the motorcycle and races suicidally by the city. When Spohie survives this to its surprise, she gives gas correctly: Arrow straight line and with the force of falling rocks rumbles the 20-year old by a marode man world - always on the desperate search for something, which could provide their clarity over itself. When finally knows you, what wants it and the racing travel would like to stop, the brakes failed..."

I think the version Marquat provided is a little closer to what I remember.

Still no info on a potential DVD though.

I like frogmugsy's translation better. It has overtones of all the German incomprehensibility I associate with three years of my life spent in Bavaria. "Sophie is not more schwanger, white however from whom" sort of sets the tone. I can't wait for this to hit the U.S. DVD market: we'll get to see just how much schwanger Sophiiie really is!

Kind of makes me wonder, my trusty PC can translate PAL to NTSC to SECAM or PCM to MP3 to ac3 and still nothing can do a half decent job of German to English. Guess computers are still going to need humans around for a while. Gave me a good laugh anyway.
Reminds me of the Chinese movie I was showing last year, one of the English subtitles, right at one of the high points of the movie reads "I deserve a death"
