makes sence. All the AP articles I read said they MAY fold it up. The only places saying it WOULD stop were not-real media sources that go on rumors.

It is finished.

I think you mean the customer is finished, and the BDA has killed all forms of HD formatted video. Cause BluRay will never win the market, ever. The failure of the Hd-DVD would only guarantee the eventual discontinutation of BluRay. HD-DVD was the only potential long term winner so this means regular old DVD will eventually kill off BluRay as well.

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Toshiba Corp. will announce its withdrawal from the high-definition DVD business as soon as Tuesday afternoon, according to Japanese media reports.

Sounds like there's no if, ands or buts about it.

And so the war ended - a simple press release that starts

"TOKYO--Toshiba Corporation today announced that it has undertaken a thorough review of its overall strategy for HD DVD and has decided it will no longer develop, manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders. This decision has been made following recent major changes in the market. Toshiba will continue, however, to provide full product support and after-sales service for all owners of Toshiba HD DVD products."
