Slashdot has a story from the PC demo scene, where they still manage to write impressive demo programs in 4096 bytes of code (The Vegas 9 desktop icon is larger than that).
The winner is a fly over of a mountain range, in HD. Click Prods at the top of their page, and you get the links to both an AVI of the video, and the executable. Beware, this requires a rather beefy PC to run, the executable may only be 4kb, but it uses a LOT more while executing :)
I'm astounded of what they managed to do with 4kb.
