OT/HDV tour

Spot|DSE wrote on 11/9/2005, 9:56 AM
Looking forward to meeting several of you in Dallas tomorrow night and Friday. A new addition to the tour: we'll be doing a drawing for a name from Dallas (and other cities) to give away a RedRock Micro 35/M2 lens adapter, in addition to the Sony software, HDV parka, and other cool stuff.
It's a free evening event if you'd like to know more about HDV and all the periphery. For those that have attended other cities, they'll confirm it's NOT a marketing presentation, it's pretty straightforward facts and potential presentation with a LOT of gear you've likely never seen, at least up close and personal.

I wish I could be there but with work and the time to get to the airport I probably wouldn't make it before 9:00.

Hopefully next time I'll be able to do the cert seminar also...

Hey Spot! I'm unfortunately unable to make it to any of the HDV tour dates as I am traveling all over the place too. I wish it was available online for download, but then the vid quality wouldn't be so hot and would ruin the "wow" factor of it all wouldn't it? We could still hear the info from you guys though, oh, and hear the ooo's from the crowd! DH

We do have a DVD version of the tour that should be available before the turn of the new year.

And (he begins pushing his luck), do the folk who attend get a copy of the DVD?
Spot|DSE wrote on 11/11/2005, 5:52 AM
Attendees don't get a copy at n/c, but those who didn't attend will have the opportunity to see/hear much/most of what is being presented at the event. There are a few things not on the DVD due to copyright issues, but there is a lot of content.
And the DVD is going to be quite inexpensive.

was great to see Dand here and David McKnight here from the forums last night, Thank you for the Astros memorabilia, David!
Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you in Burbank in a few weeks, NAB Post Plus next week, or DV Expo early in December.

Hey, Spot, that was a pretty cool presentation last night. Hopefully a rich relative will die soon so I can invest in HDV. :-)

BTW, You shoulda shown the whole Thailand clip as a giveaway game...guess the gender and win a t-shirt!

"We do have a DVD version of the tour that should be available before the turn of the new year."

Cool, thanks Spot. I'll get one when they are available.

I just finished watching HandsOn "HDV A Complete Guide to the HVR-Z1U and HDR-FX1" I don't have a Z1, but am considering getting one, so, I thought it would be a good way to get a demo of the camera. I like to research purchases in the kind of price range before making them. I made thousands of dollars worth of "mistakes" purchase wise when I was first starting out about 5 years ago. If I buy one, they better not come out with the Z2 or something like that 3 months later or I'll be pissed! haha DH
