OT: HG20 and Vegas?

Now that I have a little one who is growing and changing before my very eyes, I'm looking into getting a little camcorder for personal use.

I was wondering if anyone has exp. with the HG20 and how well it plays with Vegas.

I have read that Canon doesn't flag their 24p, and so I'm guessing that I'll get that wonderful combing look, if I try and use 24p and edit it as 24p (any input on this would be appreciated). Other than that, any problems handling the 24mbps files, or anything else in Vegas.

Any problem with the cams for that matter?

After seeing their price drop to $500, I'm going to sell of a bit of stuff and see what I can manage through all the birthing bills and my wife being "let go" from her job (long story - don't ask).

Thanks for any input.

Dave

I was just searching about on Canon 24p and had read the same thing about it not being flagged. I just shot 3hrs of live music performance on a hf100 all in 24p. I haven't been to my studio since the shoot but will be getting into it monday. Hopefully there is an easy way to work with this if necessary.

Bump.

william, you can just edit it as the 60i stream, but I wanted real 24P that I could render out final video so that I could save on the encoding etc...
