OT: How can I edit AVCHD PGS text stream?

I inadvertently had the wrong clock time in my camera during a recent trip abroad so now all the shooting times in my video files are out by six hours. The shooting time and date show as a subtitle while being played by my network media player into my TV.

Is there any easy way for me to change this in my files? Naturally a batch method would be ideal.

I looked into this some time ago and finally gave up. As I recall, the PGS text stream track is similar to a subtitles track and some software may be able to convert it to a subtitle format. Again, that's been awhile ago, so don't take my word for it. You might also have a look at this software that can read metadata from AVCHD files. http://www.dvmp.co.uk/ It does claim to be able to change your time stamp. It may do what you want, but seems a bit pricey. Let me know if you find anything. Good luck.

Afaik, PGS stream is not text stream but bitmaps. So, you can't edit it...

If it is bitmap, how come programs such as dvmp can display the info? Why is it called a text stream?

I believe they directly extract recorded date/time metadata from AVC stream. PGS subtitles are ignored.

The plot thickens.

I used tsMuxer to remove the PGS stream. The time/date and other metadata still showed in DVMP, but the date/time did not show with my media player.

It is the display from my media player that annoys me, so my concern is still with the PGS stream.

As a matter of interest, however, how could I change the data in the video stream? Vegasaur?

I believe you would have to use something like Dvmp since the metadata needs changing.
