It's normally a registry entry or .dll file that is hidden on your machine. If you know where to look you can get rid of them and install trial versions more than once....but I won't tell you how :)

I downloaded a trial version of Saphire plugins for After Effects once. It locked its entry in the register and no matter what I do (regclean, etc) I can't clear it.

Does Vegas do the same thing?

It attaches the information randomly to a file on the computer. Just right click each file and go to proprties, and when you find the one with the checkbox "allow user unlimited use" just check it off.

At least that's what somebody on the bus told me.

Just remember if you do like whatever program it is that you are trying, if you like it and use it, you should purchase it.

If I recall correctly the trial version also requires you to register over the web, which means that even if you reformatted your hard drive and reinstalled it you probably couldn't use it again. That's just a guess on my part. I reformat my hard drive at least once every three months but have never tried to re-install Vegas 5 (using Vegas 4 right now).

the V5 trial version (i have) doesn't require regiseration. And I found it really, really easy to be able to install it again (patheticly easy).

However, I only did it once to help someone with a veggie problem on the board (I still have V4) & don't do that little hack I found on a regular basis.

I'd recomend just buying the program. Then everyone can sleep at night! :)

My question was out of interest not looking to keep reloading the trial for ever and ever Ahmen!

Actually it is not true that you are required to register over the web to use the trial or even the full version. You are asked to but by choosing register from another computer you can bypass this if it is your desire for annonimity. Of course you need register and purchase to get a legal key for continued use and upgrades and support.

My question was because my computer crashed and I needed reload everything I have. As my HD was damaged I did a full format first and then of course you can relaod trial as all history is gone.
