NO COMPANY says they have x,xxx,xxx licensed users of product Y. At best somebody makes a wild guess which isn't the same thing.

Further I've NEVER seen SonicFoundy or Sony say we got X licensed users. Such informaiton is closely guarded like KFC's "secret recipe" and ain't talked about in public. Since I don't read every thread, I could be in error. So to give you the benefit of the doubt SHOW ME a thread where IN THIS FORUM either Sonic Foundy or Sony SAID we have X licensed copies of Vegas,

Put it here ===>

Besides, who cares?

From what I can remember Adobe mentioned their numbers for Photoshop in some kind of Q&A interview type article in a magazine. I can't remember which.

And I know I've read articles which talked about Microsoft claiming a certain number of Windows copies out there around the time they hit the 50 million mark. The article pointed out that microsoft didn't specify wheather that number was from the newest version or since the begining.

I've never read a Sonic Foundry or Sony mention of their numbers. However, it would be nice to know how many fellow users we have out there.

I'm not quite sure how revealing a number like that could give the competition an advantage. What can the competition do to hurt another company's business by knowing it's number of users? The only problem I could possibly imagine would be if the number is so low as to scare off profit oriented plugin developers.

"To save all 300,000 posting, maybe we can do this statistically.

Fot instance - in India, a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle every 2.5 minutes.

And he's getting fed up with it."

ROTFLMAO!!!

Very witty! Struck my funny bone! (No pun intended!) ! :)

However, what a software company will brag about, sometimes, is the number of downloads after a certain upgrade release or whatever. But that doesn't give us more that a hint at the number of licenses. And like BillyBoy, I've never seen SoFo/Sony do even that.

Count 2 more from Spain (my friend doesn't visit this forum but bought Vegas after a little stoking from me... :-) )...

I am also aware of many Vegas users "here" who have not paid a single euro for it...do they count?
