Seems like extreme overkill for Vegas (200 MB/s transfer speeds!), maybe for someting like a Avid or Toaster 3 system that would be beneficial, but not for Vegas. Plus, a 200Gb raid array for $1200! That's kinda pricey concidering you can get 250GB hard drives for about 1/4th that price.(about $275 these days)

Well, I'd like to go beyond DV someday. I "hear" that that's not too far off in the future. Vegas and uncompressed or even HiDef would require this kind of power.
This is not to say that you're wrong in any way. This is, indeed, overkill for what I'm doing now. No doubt about it. But please don't crush my hopes of higher quality than DV. I yearn for it so.
(DV is fine, but 4:2:2 is better, and 4:4:4 is awesome.)

Heck, $1,200 would be nothing, for someone who wants a 4:4:4 camera. I was just looking at one the other day, myself, nice little HiDef 4:4:4 Sony model. Think I'll get two or three, at only $110,000.00US each. If I have anything left, I may buy that disk array.

They do look nice, don't they:
