Pat,

How do you find the stuff you're looking for on YouTube?
Random selection?
Word of mouth?

I can't get figure out how to use their search engine to come with anything but garbage.

dude, try an FS1R if ur going FM Formants.. u wont regret it..
or if ur into SW, try the FM7 plugin which is a DX7 VSTi or standalone.. brilliant synth and plays all the old original DX and DX100 patches too

ahh now i get ya.. lol
well u could always try PiWarp.. lol

another option would be to gt ur hands on a Quasimidi unit.. built in vocoder :) no need to dribble into a tube.. lol

Just to prove a point. If you enter garbage into the search it comes up with 12,800 entries. Enough said!

I keep my search terms short. Like when I was searching for Roger, I entered Troutman talkbox and then it returned his stuff and others that made covers of his stuff.

I had no idea there was even a community of talkboxers. One guy even recreated Daft Punk's Digital Love. Id love to find a decent talk box for cheap but what he could do with a cheap DX100 and a Banshee talkbox was unbelievable. I think what intrigues me the most is that you dont have to have any real singing talent in order to use it and sound good since its all done with the breath and throat. AMAZING!

What isn't there enough no talent people mumbling to a beat box yet? Vocoder's went out in the 70's man.

The talkbox is a unique sound, commonly mistaken for a vocoder. Its ok, Ill keep it as my dream :)

yes, they are VERY different, however vocoders are now so advanced thathese tubular units are pretty much obsolete...

if u really wanna check otu some insane vocoder stuff, go grab a copy of Orange Vocoder.. trust me, youve never seen anythign like it
