OT: I'm fed up with small cables! Tidy?

OKay - Lodsa cables . . . ranging from 10cms to 0.5m up to 15m. Last gig I did made a complete prat of myself with Grazie disappearing amongst a tangle of cable sphagetti junction! Looked like he was being consumed by a nest of snakes! Not very pro . . oh no! . .

I'm thinking of a kinda transparent-tool-roll-hanging-cupboard-zippable-multi-pocket . .thingie! Phew . .. !

This way I get to SEE what I've got; SEE what I need; see what's missing; and they will all be tamed by their own little compartment too. There MUST be such an animal? Yeah?

Oh the job? The job got done of course!

Well, get some multicolored tape from Radio Shack and then Tape each end of the cable the same way, then after you run out of colors start doubling up with the same color, then tripple up, then double with two different colors, then tripple with two different colors then tripple with tree different colors. Then get a cable trays with covers (4" x 4") of different lengths and fasten them behind your stuff and they will hold about 4 computers worth of stuff. If the cables are loose in the cable trays you can change them easily. Go into your local telephone exchange and eyeball how they do it with millions of cables.

to start with get Velcro cable ties. You can get them in colors too, I use yellow ones so we know which kits mine and what belong where I work.
I also bought a few cheap metal attache cases to carry cables etc in.
Looks kind of pro. Or you can buy quite a few nice kit bags, some with mulitple pockets that velco onto the main bag, you can also get vests that grips use with lots of big pockets, there's even one with braces. Worse thing that happens to me being rather portly when I hang too much off my belt, me trousers fall down. Now even though my undies have Panavision in big letters on them it still doesn't look real professional :)

BOB! Just got back from B&Q having NOT read your reply!

1/- Git the Velcro cable ties. - Loadsa colours! Nice!

2/- Got a Stanley Power Tool case for my Behringer Mixer. It's got a clear top compartment, which NOW with my XLR/1/4"/Adaptor bit's and cables to and from Mixer<>Camera in the lid. Nice!

3/- Seen some Ali metal attache cases too. I think they're gonna hold the long lengths. And yes, they are pro-looking too.

Remarkably enough the cheapest suitable cases I've found are sold for carrying pistols, come in a few sizes and with combination locks. Only thing is I don't know if they're attractive to thieves or a deterrent.
