OT: Intel Price Cuts Scheduled for April

Thought some of you looking to upgrade might want to wait until April.

Here are the price cuts Intel has scheduled for April.

Excellent info, John. I had been considering moving up to quad, as I have the motherboard, etc. ready. That price drop for the 6700 is pretty substantial. Looks like I'll be making the change in April.

The Q6700 and the Q9450 are similar, 2.66GHz clock speed, 95 Watts power demand.

The Q9450 offers a faster FSB 1333 vs 1066 and twice as large a Cache 12 MB vs 6 MB. The Q9450 will be $316 on Jan 20th. The Q 6700 will go down to $266, but not until Apr 20th.

Would the Q9450 FSB increase & Cache doubling over the Q6700 likely offer useful, real performance increases for Vegas users?
