John, I saw your post regarding Autopano Pro. Struck me as being interesting, so I downloaded the demo version. Took about five quick snaps around the room and it blended them together so fast and so well it made my head swim!

That is one fantastic little app! Stitiching photos in PS is a major pain the bum.

Thanks for sharing that one!

I took a bunch of photographs of landscapes while I was in the Galapagos this past summer, and I've been trying to stitch them together in various ways. My attempts with the demo were just magic! Thanks John and Jay.

You're welcome, Jay and Laurence. Sometimes there is a piece of software that accomplishes a task SO much better than anything else that one can't help but try to spread the word. Kind of like Vegas...

Generally, I only need to tweak a couple of things in AutoPano, one is the cylinder, spherical or planar projection and the other is making sure that "smartblend" is selected in the render section under "blending algortihm." A huge problem when doing panoramas has always been panoramas where there is something that has moved between the overlapping shots, like anything with people in it. The smartblend feature deals with this 99% of the time. The first time I saw it work, my jaw dropped to the floor. This had been a "holy grail" sort of thing for me for years.
