OT: Just released from prison...

Cameras and computers wrapped in plastic. Hurricane passing over Disney… Sea World… Universal… my house.
56 hours in the family sweat box with no refrigeration, spoiling food, and arguing inlaws & halflaws acting as the sole source of entertainment. 95 degrees indoors, rain and mosquitoes outdoors.
Damage is very random. Some trees stand, some fall down. Stupid people park under them and the size doesn’t seem to matter, some small ones will fall down with big ones still standing next to them. Some signs blow out, some stay put. Power is out in one area, everything fine in another.
It’s not so much that 19th century technology is bad, it’s just that we don’t have access to it. Horses, buggies, fireplaces, “cut & dried” food,
…hand cranked Tesla coils.

John,
I have a 5kw generator I bought for the storm, fortunatly we didnt need it.
If you or your family would like to borrow it, you are most certainly welcome to it. We can work out delivery.
The news down here (fl) is pretty bleak, it missed my town by 30 miles , no damage....but freinds and customers of mine down in charlotte county have had there lives desimatted. Amazing that it kept such power as it cut through the state all the way to Orlando.
My thoughts are with you John, email me at epirb(at)comcast.net.
The Generator is yours for as long as you need it if you want.
and I have a budy thats going to Orlando this fri.

Power restored this morning here- keeping your offer on hold. My brothers restaurant is running on a 5k at the moment, got the walk-in cooler hotwired and serving a limited menu... under candle light.
Loose any boats?

Few down in Punta Gorda, and Boca Grand, two marinas down by Sanibel are just plain gone.
We lucked out on Anna Maria, where it was forcast to hit.If it would of hit us the way it hit them, there would be nothing left. The marina sits right at the opening of Tampa bay and the Island is less than a block wide where we sit.
glad to hear your powers back on at home.
I'll email you at your webpage address w my cell number, if you nedd anything call.
