OT: Launching a Sony Madison Software forum!

I also took the precaution of removing the word Sony from my logo.
Probably a good idea.
As far as your other questions, I can't advise you...that's what the call or email to Sony Media Software/Madison Media Software should be about.
The boys in Madison aren't there to cause you trouble; just remember that they're only one very, very small arm in the big Sony umbrella. They've shut down one website I'm aware of because the domain name included the word "Sony" in the URL. On the flip side, there is another side, "sonyhdvcamcorders.com" that has been allowed to flourish. I don't know how they decide who stays/who goes. But I know what happens when you mis-use their name. :-)

I would also try to clearify, if it is fine for Sony to use the product pictures in the forum. I would assume that these pictures are copyright-protected (but I am no lawyer at all).

Just for the record, having a 3rd party site devoted only to all the SMS software would be nice. I personally don't like the interface of the DMN forums, which is why I don't go there very much, to cumbersome for my taste. Be nice to lure all the good folks running DMN over to a site like this. hehehe, maybe get admins from other low traffic sites to join and contribute. I don't even go to AcidPlanet that much any more.
Just my HO. I'm sure there's something going on at Sony that would be similar, but 3rd party could be useful anyway.

Hey guys! I built a new feature into my forums that will assist users in communicating ideas. It basically turns bbcode (simple code that requires no knowledge of HTML) into what-would-otherwise-seem-to-be a screenshot of the Project Properties window. It will be tremendously useful when sharing users preferences, because you can directly relate to the interface. Check it out!
