OT: MAC Browser check request

Cliff Etzel wrote on 6/19/2008, 5:39 AM
I received an email from a user who is using a MAC stating that my SoloVJ.com website is crashing his browsers - both Safari and Firefox. He said he is using Leopard 10.5.3 and latest versions of said browsers.

I've checked the site with those browsers on the WIndow's side and all works as it should. Could those using MAC's do a quick check to see if your browsers crash as well?

Thanks.

most likely it's a plugin problem. speaking from experience with issues with website & windows.

No problems on my Leopard Mac Pro fresh out of the box, in Safari.

I haven't had time to download FF3 yet, will do that after I read the user reports from the first maniac competition downloaders.

Minor nit: the cameraman silhouette in the upper left corner overlaps half the first line of the text under it.

Great-looking site!

(Safari defaulted to Apple's home page with the latest news: 5 billion downloads so far from the 8 million songs available in iTunes, and 50,000 movies sold or rented every day. Pretty amazing!)

CD - I hadn't seen that text before - so I checked the site in IE6, and sure enough it was there. the CSS class being called had a -4px top margin call being made so it was pushing the text into the graphic - I fixed that parameter and it doesn't show any longer in IE and never did in Firefox - using FF3 and like it much better than FF2.

Please recheck and let me know whether you still see that text or not.

And thanks for the compliment on the site - It was a moderate modification of a wordpress template - but it's still not quite right yet, but it will suffice for the time being.
