I just tried out the SAL V4 demo today and noticed that still adds interlace artifacts to AVCHD 30p (because the header tells them that it is 60i). Does this update by chance fix that issue?
The way to test it would be to shoot something in AVCHD 30p with lots of movement, stabilize it, then compare the pre and post stabilized videos. On the demo, the pre-stabilized video will have no interlace artifacts because it is indeed 30p (regardless of what the header says). The stabilized video will have a prominent interlace comb on the fast motion.
proDAD is one of those irritating companies that doesn't tell you the download version number on the web site. You have to download it and then start to install before it will tell you that. I now notice that there is an update to version 2 64 bit plugin (2.0.119.3) that I did not have.
I created a short video for a friend, although it was for his business, multi-camera setup. One of the cameras was a Sony Action Cam strapped to his chest, worked great, but he complained it got in the way, potentially dangerous. So we hooked it to his helmet. Uh oh, all that head movement made it almost unwatchable, but Mercalli saved it. Great product.
Upon opening the application there is an update reminder in the upper right hand corner. It is the same installer that you can replace the original or download to another directory.
I'm not at my editing PC at the moment but I remember that I was told of the last update when I was in Mercalli itself. The advice showed as a small, thin window (I think tellow in colour) towards the top right of the screen and clicking on it led you directly into the update.
