OT: My latest Vegas-edited pro Commercial: ideas?

Hey everyone, thanks so much for all your help over the years; here's my latest 3-minute commercial, actually a preview, for my forex DVD system I created w/Vegas/DVDA, from a recent seminar, what do you think?

http://tinyurl.com/yrb2en

Took me 9 hours' work to create that 3-minute clip... Any feedback on improvements would be much appreciated.

This is just the first of several preview video clips I'll be releasing in the weeks leading up to the product launch.

It's not for the faint-hearted :P.

Thanks,

Ken

And I thought I was the only person here who dealt in the forex market. Anyway, I think it was well done and had good pacing. That is important because a lot of forex videos don't have that. (Peter Bain put me to sleep on more than one occasion a few years back.) Conversely, some videos of this nature go over the top and yet don't say anything about the product. (4X Made Easy or whatever it was called.) You have a good mix of energy and info. I'm glad to see you mentioned MM since most other systems gloss over or ignore it.

I don't know if you are totally finished with this one, but I would make a few changes. I would duck the music to make the dialog more audible. There are also a few places where the dialog could use a little NR if you have that available. Also, just before 1:27 or so, there is a flash where the chart reappears for a few frames. Looks like a misaligned fade. Also, the slide duration in the second half seem a little too short for some people to read. In addition, I'd personally go with a lighter weighted font to aid readability. There is one other thing I want to say, but I might be wrong, and it would sound mean so I'll wait to see if someone else says it.

I have another piece of advice totally unrelated to the video itself. You might want to have some of your students who enjoyed the course visit Felix's site (forexbastards.com), and rate you. Although I don't, it seems that some people shop for systems on that site. Make sure they don't post ratings from the same IP address as that gets flagged as scamming activity. Also, go there yourself to check on and defend your rep if it ever comes under attack. Same thing applies to forexfactory and moneytec forums.

good luck,

P.S.--Where you also around when the Vegas trading system was developed? That was a strange coincidence.

Thanks! You certainly know the fx market; will do re asking students to rate on fxb, that's a terrific idea, I wouldn't have thought to do that... didn't know about the ip checking, that's good to know, I'll tell them not to dupe post...

thanks too for the editing tips re audio, and chart flash; I'll take a look and fix that.. thanks for the catch... and agree re fonts, I'm using heavy ones but they are less readable, esp. less than serif ones ... hey that's ok re anything else, it's sales, so I'd appreciate any ideas on fixing anything that's less than sharp/pro for this, it's my big money launch of the year; working hard on it for all my traders...

agree w/MM; also I don't see anybody else talking about cups (it's mostly fibonacci/bband bs out there re technicals for spot fx trading), or adx or others...also I've got an article coming out in the next issue of TASC, oct 07)

right re fxfactory, hadn't heard of moneytec, I also visit baron's at elitetrader and ian's at trade2win... never heard of the vegas trading system, though I will be a speaker at the next tradersexpo.com in vegas this november.. :p

thanks - good to hear from someone who knows the biz like you do.

regards,

-ken

p.s. remind me to send you a free copy of the system if you want, once it's out; just email me ken at daytradinguniversity dot com and I'll send it to you; I appreciate your taking the time to share some great thoughts, they make sense.

The pacing was good but I could not read all of the text because it flew by too fast. Especially around 1:40 and 2:40 I had to stop the video in order to read all the writing. You should leave text on the screen long enough for you to read it though 2 or 3 times. This will insure that someone seeing it for the first time can read it once. At 2:40 you tell us what we will get and it literally flashes by so fast I don't think you could even read it.

You also have some interlacing problems when you move your hands. I would deinterlace any footage you place on the internet.

Overall the whole fire theme was great, not too over the top. It's a really great commercial. It almost looked so easy that I could even do it. ;-) Good work!

Thanks Johnny, great points, will do re slowing text down, and de-interlacing, good catches. I appreciate it! Still learning all of this.. one slow year at a time... :p
