by the way...i'm in the process of getting a good composer friend of mine to write some simple piano and string music...possibly some french horns..who knows...for this project...and also in the works is having my university's orchestra play and record the music for FREE! SWEET!

Would I be able to get you to send a DVD of this to me, I'd paypal you the money for sending etc... and a little extra for the trouble. (do you think that the quality would be better on the DVD - it was a pretty high bitrate. What do you think?)

I'd love to send you one if I didn't have any copyright issues. If all goes well with my workings with this composer and orchestra...then I will gladly send you one. I'll keep you guys posted on the progress.

The dvd is only a little bit better quality than the wmv...so you're not missing much...just a little less noise and such.

Great job.
I was very impressed with your use of lighting; many scene to scene transitions were
also pretty creative and thoughtful. the tight head shots gave the impression that your characters were "boxed in" and in trouble.....well done!

Being a 19 minute movie, I had very litte trouble downloading the wmv....so, my question is was this a "progressive" file or is it streamed right off the server?
How big was the file......my guess is that it was close to 400 meg!?
How long did it take to upload?

Thanks
Jess

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!

To be honest with you..I don't know much about creating websites and video on the internet and all that good stuff.

So, for the question about progressive or streamed...i do not know...
The file is about 150 MB and it took about 50 minutes to upload.

So did you just upload the .wmv file to your web site and then the file automatically opens up the WM player?

exactly...

...actually...the file took about 50 minutes to upload...when i said 14..i was thinking about the lower quality version I had up earlier..

Very nice work. How did you frame for that CinemaScope aspect ratio? Did you draw guides on the LCD screen?

One word - OUTSTANDING! That applies to all of it - story, camera, editing, lighting!

I do, however, concur with the concerns about God's voice - could be a little stronger and still be on that threshold.

For framing I used electrical tape...i played a DVD with a 2.35:1 ratio through the camera and put black electrical tape over the black bars on the lcd. Genious! I know!

I finally fixed the volume of God's voice....haven't posted a new wmv though...probably won't be able to for a few days...

also...i'm putting up a site for the film. On there there is a swf version of the film...quality is horrible...but i'm working on it...if you guys know how to change that swf part to where the wmv plays in the same space...let me know...thanks

NOOOo! You fixed the voice? I thought it was spot on before. I understood it, but it was just tough enough that I had to think about what I had just heard. I thought that was powerful.
Ah well, everyone's a critic ;-)
