OT: Nero just announced a dual-layer version

The rate at which this industry evolves just amazes me. Ahead Software just announced that Nero will be doing dual-layer burning for the +R format by this summer. I can assume that -R will be close behind.

We will be able to burn 8GB of DVD material on one disk! I would imagine that disks will be very expensive at first, though.

But the heading does say "Adead Software’s Nero".

I'm sure it can't be an April Fool thing.

The press release was dated 3-31-04. I read the other day that the dual-layer burners were supposed to start hitting the market 2nd quarter of this year. Certinly make me rethink upgrading my A03 for now. :)

Also, the Sony DL recorder has been announced to be retail packed with the Ahead Nero software.
