OT: new site and logo - re-design - input?

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd share a new site I made for myself when I re-designed my logo.

www.day-vidsproductions.com

I'm by no means a web guru or even a much of a graphics guy, just thought I'd make something that wasn't utterly embarrassing (or so I think right now ). I'm still making changes, so feel free to suggest changes in the look, etc... of the site. what is or isn't good about it.

It's a 3D model made in blender, with a bit of post work in Photoshop to make it shine and try to match my logo color, which was then sliced and tabled.

It's just text and embedded videos. I'm using Vimeo for the moment, but I don't think they like their hosting being used for a business, so I will be changing to a different embedding method if I discover it's a problem.

Well, I think my son is finally sleeping again so I am going to try and do the same (ahhh molar teething, seems like it's been pretty painful the last few nights)

un-abashed bump for attention - curious to hear if people hate it or not.

Thanks.

I'll go first!
I think that it's OK. A couple of ideas: The "vids Productions" should be more clear. It looks like it's in bold or there is extra outline on it. I would knock that down a little so that the letter formations are not crowded. I would also have the red appear to go behind the yellow circle. It would make it more finished and then you wouldn't even need the dash between "day" and "vids productions". Then it would have a cleaner look.

Just my 2 cents.

Dave,
I'm not a fan of dark sites...so take my comments with a grain of salt. The 3D does not 'pop' for me. I get some 3D effect in the frame, but the name bar is not sharp. Also, I don't care for the font on Vids Productions. The letters are too close together and when superimposed on the red background, they seem to lose contrast. I do like the layout and the red frame. I think with a lighter colored font with more kerning, it would look pretty good.

Nice start for the www site. I agree the "Vids Production" logo is fuzzy.

The frames on the pages should be cover the entire screen.

I did like the demo vids!

A lot better quality than many local comercials I see on TV that have highly pixilated fonts and graphics. I wonder to myself, people actually get paid to produce this junk?
