I just uninstalled Nero 7 ultra edition because I could stop one of it's background processes: NMIndexStoreSvr.exe from continuously running in the background and using about 50% of my CPU. I understand this is some kind of media cataloging program that helps catalog media files between Nero applications. Whatever it is, I really don't like it. Can I install Nero without this silly CPU intensive application?

Also, when I installed Nero, I specifically unchecked all the file associations. After installing it, I did a web update and it redid all my associations anyway. AAHH!

I used to love Nero. Is it still good or has it morphed into a piece of crap? It sure seems that way!
