I know you can use the arrow keys to move a frame at a time. What I don't know, is why sometimes it skips 3 or 6 or 9 frames at a time and then sometimes 1 frame at a time. Can somebody explain why or what to do to get what you want. Thanks in advance.

After opening Vegas if the template is NTSC or PAL DV the default timeline zoom ratio it will have left-right arrows keys move the cursor 4 frames at a time.
Hitting the upper arrow once to zoom in it will make the left-right arrows move the cursor 3 frames at a time and so on.
After opening a project if you hit 3 times the upper arrow to zoom in the cursor will move one frame at a time when using the left-right arrows keys.
If you use the HD 720-60p (1280x720; 59,940 fps) the frame skipping number should be 9,8,6,4,3,2 and 1. You will have to hit 6 times the upper arrow to get a zoom ratio that will make the left-right arrows keys move the cursor frame by frame.
The other keyboard options posted will move the cursor frame by frame no matter what the timeline zoom ratio is.
