OT: Opinions on best setup for kids

My daughter is 10 (going on 37) and has the music bug. I want to open her up to basic tracking, so she can play with singing to music, etc. She has Super Duper Music Looper, but she's kinda outgrown it (plus it's limited to the single disc of loops). If SDML could pull in outside loops and allow recording, it would be perfect. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of something that was kid-friendly? Thanks.

How about ACID Studio?

Good call, Kelly. Didn't even think to check on that -- just assumed it didn't have recording. Am downloading the demo now.

Irony is, my system is loaded with every single current Sony Pro app, and I'll probably have to pay full price...

If you've got Acid Pro & Vegas, etc. ....

Let her have at it.

Give her the real deal and the opportunity to work with the real stuff.

Sounds like she's on her way to taking it serious.

I say give her the real deal and load her up with real loops and she'll be letting you co-produce the records she's working on in a couple of years ....

....It doesn't take long when they're given the right opportunities...

;~)

...and I'll add that kids now continually blow my mind with their ability to grasp recording concepts in the pc realm. I teach music to 6, 10 and 14 year old kids and all of them understand how CUBASE works, to an extent.

I can't imagine Vegas or ACID being a roadblock -)

And then teach her to REASON -- and you will be shocked.
