OT: OT! Selling a Jib - need advice

mjroddy wrote on 1/8/2006, 11:21 PM
I won't do a sales pitch here since I don't know if that's appropriate in this venue. But I am indeed selling my EZ FX jib and would like to know what the best way to do that is. I just tried ebay and it didn't go up to my reserve by half! I don't think I'm over-estimating its value, so I need to find some new market places to try to sell this.
IF anyone is curious about it, please write me privately (mjr@matthewroddy.com) and we can discuss this away from this forum.
Thanks for all and any advice!

Try 2-pop Marketplace and Craigslist. They're both free and the latter especially can be amazing even for more unusual stuff like a jib.

If those don't work out for you there are a couple of pro gear exchanges in Burbank and Miami especially that are good but will give you less money of course.

I can only relate local experience but in general specialised kit just takes time to sell unless you're prepared to take fire sale prices.
Try calling rental houses, even though they mightn't be looking for one just now if the price is attractive they might like to take the opportunity.
