What i do for this is create and prepare the DVD in DVD Architect but not burn it. Then i use Nero to burn the DVD and add the data files to another subdirectory along with the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS directories. I try to avoid putting much in the root directory as some DVD players get confused by extra files. You should be able to get away with an autostart file though if you need one.

No problem - as long as you put the data outside the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. The DVD player will only look inside the VIDEO_TS folder to play the video.

I've got Nero Ultra 6.6 - but where in there do I use Nero to burn it?

OH - OK, I GET IT NOW.

basically just data burn the Video TS files etc... as a DATA DVD and then make another folder for the files etc...

No, CREATE a regular video DVD in DVDA, but don't burn it yet.

Now copy the data files to their own folder in your DVD file folder.

Then burn that from Nero.

I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that DVDA won't burn a created project folder if it contains other files. I haven't tested it, but I will need to add data files also. Today I enclose a separate CD-ROM, but this adds cost and is a pain for packaging, etc..

Be careful, you can run into oddball compatibility problems doing this. The DVD spec requires an unusual file system type, get this wrong and yes the DVD will still play in the majority of players but we've had late models Samsungs just spit the DVD out.

The DVD spec requires an unusual file system type

This is the reason for burning it as a video DVD, then the file system type will be OK for sure, right?

... and DVDA 3 now includes this function.

Project Properties > Disk Properties > Extras Folder - Browse to location of folder with additional files.

call me obtuse - or whatever you like really - I guess it doesn't really matter, but I can't find the Project properties that he's talking about.

File - Properties. There's two tabs: Properties and Summary - you want Properties. Below that is four sections: Disc Properties, Copy Protection, Regions, and Mastering - you want Disc Properties. One of the entries below that is: Extras Folder.

HA - I looked right at it and didn't see it - if these eyes were old, I'd say they were failing me - not the case though

Just didn't see it.
