Hey guys,
I just started up a new show for a local PBS station. The host of the show was told by the guy that captures the show to their automated system wants bars/tone etc. but he didn't have the details so I need to call the guy. I don't want to sound like an idiot when I call and ask for "the dude that captures the show"...what is the guys title?
TIA,
Randy

Anybody else?

Possible titles (based on similar jobs locally) are:
Playback operator
Tape operator
Master Control operator

How about "Media Server Operator/Engineer"

Maybe "Production Manager's Lackie" He captures. Menial task that the higher ups dont wish to do.Seriously though, I have no clue. I would ask what he would like to be referred to for future reference. There is NOTHING wrong with stating that you do not know and would like to be more informed for future contacts which will help faciltate communication.
