OT: possible Vegas 5 review?

Hey, any of the V5 beta testers out there (coughSPOTcough), do you think you could write a V5 review to publish in DV magazine? They STILL don't have a V4 review. I e-mailed them a while back and they said they need someone to write a review (aparently that guy who game VV3 a 4/5 stars didn't use V4).

So, could ya? :)

I've already written one, but can't send it off anywhere....But DV is on the list.

Cool. I'll enjoy reading it... in about the 7-9 months they will print it, but I will enjoy it. :)

Could you tell us the rating you gave it (ie VV3 got 4/5 stars)? I can understand if ya can't.

Not to point out the obvious, but wouldn't they consider it a conflict of interest to publish a review authored by someone with a Vegas book on the market?

Who? DV magazine? According to their previous reviews, the people who review the software are "pro's", so I think Spot would be perfect. He has expereince with Premiere, Vegas, Avid, & FCP, so he could write a good review. I couldn't. I'd spend a couple pages doing nothing but praising it. :)

Does anyone know if there will be a public beta of Vegas 5, like there was for V4?

It looks doubtful with the announcement and probable release being soo soon.

Cheesehole, it may be considered a benefit, that the reviewer is so familiar with the previous version. That way they can knowledgeably discuss what the new features of Vegas 5 are.

It might be a conflict, if the article was a Vegas vs.... article. As long as they state the reviewer's previous affiliation with the software, the readers can make up their own minds.

I think I'm pretty fair in my assessment of Vegas. Since I am familiar with most of the NLE's out there, and Vegas is my fave, and I'm open about it, I do believe I'm only marginally biased. I think you'll be surprised to read what I have to say about it....
