OT: Primera Pro print adjustments

RalphM wrote on 4/12/2004, 4:35 PM
I've never found good documentation on how to adjust the printing area to print closer to the center hole and all the way to the edge of the printable area.

There is a significant variation among mfgrs in the dimensions of the printable surface, and I hate seeing unprinted white rings.

Anybody figured this out???

Depends to some extent if you're printing directly on the disc or using labels. If you're using labels you should be able to first obtain labels that have smaller holes, then if necessary adjust the label marking template.

If you're printing directly on the disc the software that comes with it should allow adjustment. For example on my Epson, it comes with a little graphic program that allows basic graphics plus adjustment for sizing the inner and outer diameter hole size. If you do they you probably need to recalibrate the printer a little or it could be off dead center.

Doesn't the software come with directions? Have you contacted Primera.com's technical support?

The directions are weak in this area and I have read them. I have contacted Primera's tech support but the explanations I got do not seem to work.

I wish there were a simple utility as BillyBoy cites for the Epsons. the Primera prints a great image, but the white rings drive me a little nuts....

If you go under the printing preferences, then under calibration options. There is a setting for the center ring size. We normally have it set at -69 and it fills up the disc right to the center hole. We have 4 of the Signature Pro's so if you ever have any questions on them let me know.

Thanks Jason,
I've tried those adjustments but without success. I'd like to ask you some questions but they are probably not of general interest to the forum.

Could you email me please rmorris21942 at yahoo.com

Thanks,
Ralph
