I guess that's why they make adapter cables. Female XLR to male mini.

Back at the end of June I said: I use two boundry mics spaced equidistant on the table .. into a splitter (combiner in this case) .. into a stereo plug that *could* go into my camera .. but goes instead into my Edirol R-09 digital recorder. Unfortunatly I could not find a commercial version of this cable. I had to cobble it together with various adaptors. Something that I would rather not do as it only gives extra places for things to go wrong someday.

Well, I just found that cable. It has two, male, mono 1/8" jacks and combines them into a single, stereo, 1/8" plug. You can plug this directly into many camcorders, or into portable recorders like the Zoom H1, H2, H4, or H4n or the Edirol R-09, or R-09hr. This enables you to plug in two, seperate mono 1/8" plug mics into a single, stereo 1/8" jack.
