It may just be the flags that are set when outputing to DLT like how Adobe Encore does it.

about certification... here's what I've told my son...

in every job interview you go to (as a cameraman or editor) - they will ask you three questions:
1- where did you go to school?
2- what was your major (and sometimes - how did you do?)
3- can we see your ree?

at that point questions 1 and 2 will be rendered completely meaningless.

For any decent job in the industry - this is the absolute truth - and from my experience - the only truth.

Is there a specific link to the article? Picture, picture?
busterkeaton wrote on 4/4/2005, 5:22 PM
It's not an article, it's just an ad in a magazine. I don't think that magazine has website.

Vicmilt,

That is a very true statement. I have personally taught many novices how to shoot from scratch over the years. After serving their apprenticeships with my news company, Many of them went on to work for major television news stations as videographers, in the Los Angeles market.

Heres another rumored feature: Apparently we will be able to capture live video similar to how DVRack and does it and to use the scopes in a live enviornment. I was told this is one feature that isnt in any other NLE that is supposed to shake the NLE world upside down. If true, Vegas 6 just got even better.

When scopes first showed up in Vegas, I immediately went looking for how to use them real-time to check my camera. Wasn't there. Seems like an obvious thing to do but I guess it must have been technically difficult.

I agree. If this is in V6, it will be great.
p@mast3rs wrote on 4/6/2005, 2:22 PM
I think DVRack opened a lot of eyes of NLE developers that it could be done. From what I have seen so far, Premiere Pro 2.0 is going to include this feature along with Ultra like live green screening. Would be even more awesome if Vegas offered live green screening.

Scopes are what brought me to Vegas from Premiere. Premiere didn't have them, Vegas did. But this feature would be kick *ss.

So far I haven't seen any indication of real-time scopes in the new release. Was it just a rumor?

Rex, it looks like they were just rumors. Now we have to hope that Serious Magic announces a HDVRack.
