I signed up for e-mail notification and will post when they get more of them in.........hopefully at the same price. They DID remove the link above though.

Micro Center (retailer) has a 200GB IDE ATA/133 drive on sale for $45. The list price is $105, but there is a $60 rebate on purchases until July 1st. I got myself one of these last week. I use SATA for video, but this guy will do nicely for storing backups on my media server PC.

Here's the link.

Thanks for the link Jayster.

Some of us have some concerns about Maxtor as a brand according to several posts in the past here on these forums.

Thanks again,

John

I've found as long as you can keep them from overheating and keep the power surges to a minimum, they last as long as any other drives. I've had more WD fail than Maxtors. But like anything, there will always be bad ones - irregardless of the makers.

$45 for 200GB is not bad though. A couple of weeks ago Fry's had Maxtor 200gb's for $57 (no rebate). I picked up 2 more. One can never have enough drive space...

OK,
I just got my "in stock" notice from Newegg, BUT the price jumped to $100. Not worth it for that.

I just bought this Samsung SATA 3.0 160 GB harddrive for $67.00 based on reviews saying it's both quiet and fast. I like to have about 70-80 GB of stuff on my C: drives, so this leaves just the right amount of air... :O)
