Taking into account where you're obviously coming from? No, the operative word would be "faith". Something that doesn't have to be proven to be believed regardless of how primitive the authors or their knowledge.

You know, like the story about Adam & Eve or the world is flat or the earth is the center of the solar system (the excommunication of Galileo)? Funny how some consider those stories as fact without having to be subjected to even the "theory" stage.

Interesting, MJ. "Theory" is related to conjecture, speculation, and supposition. Whereas "faith" is related to confidence, hope, and reliance. Interesting contrasts, wouldn't you agree?

Most people choose thier own facts. They believe what they want to believe to suit thier own psychological weakeness and their intelectual inability to be objective. So as some persons have convinced themselves that Jehova is God to the extent that they will kill people who think Ala is God and vice-verser, I sure think I can believe that explotions in space do go Whoosh and Bang and Thump. I am never objective at the cinema.

We are told it is possible to lead a horse to water but one cannot make it drink. This delightful notion is so palpably correct as to raise a smile of total understanding. How true, we say to ourselves. But beware the seduction of the obvious as the purveyor of truth, beware of truth for that matter, especially the truth that I espouse. I know how to make a horse drink, and I’m not that clever, really.

I kind of include myself in there with “most people” as you say Mike. Perhaps we, that’s me and them, at least some of them perhaps, also believe what we want to believe as dictated (bad word!) by our insecure strength, and our intellectual ability to put objectivity, and intellectuality, in its place, at least temporally while we seek to understand in which direction it might be fruitful to change our minds.

I wear headphones a lot, even when there is just the sound of wearing headphones…kinda spacy…

Lovely thread.

Ok, now that we are in the space-sound-spaceship subject. what kind of 3D softwares do you guys use? for modeling 3d environments and objects? I have some footages shot in bluescreen for keying. And I have played around a bit with Maxon Cinema 4D. but I am still getting black-outline problem with chromakeying in vegas. I know that PAL DV Widescreen 720x576 has not enough res to make a nice border between the subject and the blue screen, but anyway I have to do with what I have.
Now I model something in 3D and make the backgorund blue or green. so that I can key the colour in Vegas with the shot footage.
I dont think C4D has alpha options.

What kind of softwares do you guys use to combine 3d Plus real life footages?

Thanks for any replies.
