OT - Solutions for multi-cam live streaming shoot?

We have been asked to setup and do a multi-cam live streaming video shoot for a two hour event.

We want to connect our cam's via firewire to either...

1 - a computer with some multi-cam switching software... or
2 - an inexpensive switch
3 - or what?

How would you guys do this?

Thanks for any help.

You might want to check out one of the inexpensive live video switchers from Edirol as a reasonable cost solution. A 4 channel Edirol switcher I've seen as for as low as $1400.

Alternatively you could rent a small video switcher at a rental house.

I'm not sure about a computer based switcher. I have no experience with any.

3) Personally I like the http://www.newtek.com/tricaster/Tricaster[/link] line.

Does not have firewire as camera input though. Component and the common
composite signals.

I'd include a separate small mic mixer with your system.
