Well, if this works as advertised Smoke 2013 went up in smoke before even being released.
I just got an e-mail from eyeon that Fusion 6.4 seamlessly opens and connects with AVID meaning you get the same functionality you'd get from Smoke 2013 only each part, NLE and Compositor/effects is better. So you also get node based editing, compositing, VFX, bla, bla, bla directly from AVID timeline.
