OT: SPEC Work Moving Into Video World...!

Has anyone--private or corporate--asked you to submit storyboards or scripts for video projects? I've had one and declined.

A poster on another forum ran into this situation where he was asked to submit "some storyboards and design ideas and present them at a meeting with two other competitors to (his words) 'give them some ideas'."

After doing some research, he found this Web site. Pretty interesting stuff!

I read of this very issue discussed muchly on the CML and I run into it with event management quotes as well. Was only a matter of time until it trickled down to our level.

Like you I'm appalled that people think any creative effort is valueless, something we should simply share around for free.

Thankfully personally I've never had this happen with a video project....yet.
