Earlier, I had asked the forum about 1080p on small TVs. Here's the update.

So I ended up holding off on this for a bit and plasma prices kept dropping.
Once I made the conceptual leap (and convinced the wife) to go with 37inches 42 " was not far behind. I'm glad I waited. I was looking at after Christmas sales and I had the top 32" Panasonic in my cart at Amazon on New's Year's Day and went to buy it the next day and it had gone up $200. After that prices went up pretty high. The week before the Superbowl, the deals weren't all that great. So Saturday, I got a Panasonic-Viera-TH-42PZ85U for just north of $900. Sunday I went out to my cable company and got an HD box

I'm pretty happy with it. The blacks are really deep, colors are nice. Blu-Ray discs look amazing. (I got Goodfellas on Blu Ray as a gift. The detail is incredible. I never knew Joe Pesci was Italian.) I haven't it tweaked it yet, as for the first 100 hours, they say it's best to keep some of the setting below 50. My friend got sick and canceled his Super Bowl shindig, which was fine by me. The superbowl looked amazing. The puppy bowl in HD looked pretty good too.

I sit close enough that I'm in area where you can notice the difference between 1080p and 720 according to the charts. It doesn't fit between bookshelves, so it's a bit in front it and at about 4 feet away it does kind of look like a Movie Screen in your house. My wife said, when it's dark in this room, it doesn't look like a black TV, it looks like an empty void in this room.

My cable company has MGMHD and they are doing a series for the 90th anniversary of United Artists, so I started DVRing a bunch of stuff.
