OT: Stockstock film festival

This is a festival for EDITORS. Everyone entering gets the same source material on a mini-DV tape -- the challenge is to make it into a 3-minute video.

I entered this last year and went to the festival screening. The quality and variety of stuff people made from the fairly unpromising source material was quite amazing.

This is a fun thing to do if you have quite a bit of spare time...

Interesting site. I didn't see any mention of a prize or recognition. I assume that there is some incentive to do this ...

This linke then takes you to a complete archive of all the old Computer Chronicle shows, including an episode featuring ... me! I had completely forgotten about this, and don't have a tape.

For the Computer Chronicle shows, you can either view the show in streaming Quicktime format, or you can download in MPEG4 or MPEG2. Lots of great history from that show.
