ot: sync software

looking for suggestions as to sync software. have tried m$ sync toy, which is as it's name implies, a toy - though the idea is right.

i regularly (manually) sync projects to ex hd's - so what i'm looking for is a program that'll do the normal compare, options for sync, etc., BUT will also allow me to 'mask / hide' folders within directories (i keep all project material together, incl, word docs, emails, etc.,) that i don't need sync'd.

any, all suggestions welcome

If you don't mind command line try robocopy from MS. I use it all the time often by creating a .bat file and using a shortcut to run the .bat file.

It is freely available as part of the Windows 2003 resource kit and has the ability to exclude files or directoies. It also seems to be quite fast.

I don't see robocopy.exe broken out separately so you can install the resource kit, grab robocopy.exe and robocopy.doc, and uninstall the kit if you don't want the clutter.

There is also a gui for robocopy that I have not tried:
