Craftech, thanks for the tip.

I'll be dropping by the Danbury, CT today to see if I can get a few of these. I've printed out the web page so the staff at the store will know what I'm asking for. But... I have my doubts! CC has been a huge disappointment for me in many respects.

I will report back later today.

Check in-store availability using the link I provided before making the trip. Availability of this item varies from store to store.

If you were to only order 1 it shows up as being mailable. If you add anymore to your order over 1 it does not allow for shipping. The BestBuy in our area put Circuit City out of business so the closest one to me is over an hour a way.

I will call them and see what they say.

Edit: The lady I spoke to over the phone said there was only 1 available in the warehouse and that is why I could only purchase one. I asked her if they only had 1 in the warehouse or if they were limiting orders to one per order or one per shipping address. She said neither. She said they only had 1 available in the warehouse. Either these things have sold like hotcakes, someone did a poor job of stocking them or I was fed wrong information :)

I can verify that they have more than 1 at the warehouse. I just ordered two (seperate orders) and they both went through.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I tried to order 6 online (for in-store pickup) and it said that the max order was 5. So, I ordered 5 this morning and picked them up on the way home from work. Helps with backing up all my EX1 footage!

UPDATE...... I dropped by the Danbury, CT store and found two on the shelf, so I bought them. There weren't anymore in stock. :-(

Craftech, not only did I check the link you provided (thanks again, BTW) but I printed out the web page and brought it with me to the store. I now do this often because I've been been to some stores that will deny knowledge of prices on their own web site!

Wasn't there a class action lawsuit against BB for this evil, evil, practice? ;-)

It appears to me that the surface of these TDK discs are printable. The surface is matte white with the TDK logo on a portion of it, but the rest of the surface seems to be usable. Has anyone tried printing on one of these discs?

P.S. I hope this is the beginning of a Blu-Ray media price war!

I ended up getting six at the local Circuit City. There were two on the shelf and four in the warehouse. They rang up at $19.99 each and I mentioned that they were on sale for $4.99. The cashier immediately logged onto the Circuit City web site and saw that they were indeed $4.99. She changed the price, completed the transaction and then congratulated me on such a "great score." I, too, hope this marks the beginning of a massive price drop for Blu-Ray media. Perhaps it could be inversely proportional to the price of gasoline. (I paid $3.92/gallon yesterday here in Albuquerque.)

So, did anybody who bought them try printing on the surface of these discs?

Thanks.

Anybody in the Foothill Ranch, CA area will now note that they are "out of stock". It looks like I got the last five.

Printing out the web page is advised. Mine rang up as $19.95, and they had to manually discount each one.

Update # 2

I checked the Trumbull, CT CC for some of these discs. The web site listed them in stock. Got there.... nope, not a one. :-(

I just tried printing on a disc. It does not look good at all. It's all beaded up and runny.
I have an Epson R1800. Oh well, life sux... then they won't let you die.
