OT: The Seagate SV35 drive for video?

I ran across this drive when browsing the web recently.
Seagate SV35 series
http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/consumer_electronics/sv35_series/

I was wondering if any one knew more about them and how they could be "tuned" for video. Apparently the advertising is aimed at the video surveilence market but I was wondering if they would provide any improved performance for our realm, the video editing market.

I have no clue what they are talking about. I was unaware that there are "special" commands for dealing with data on a hard drive. The cynic in me is whispering that it's just the marketing department speaking.

I remember the old days in fat 32 where there were some tweeks to make the hard drive better for video but it has passed me by.

I strongly suspect that most any drive is going to be fast enough for most any video use these days. I was doing real-time DV work on an old 5400RPM ATA/66 drive a good many years ago and it didn't have any trouble keeping up.
